We had the same thought about Brothers Comatose when booking the Saturday late night slot for 2018. They had had played 4 Peaks a few times already, each to appreciative crowds. In fact, as 4 Peaks grew, so had Brothers Comatose’s reputation. By 2018, Bend was very familiar with them, as shown by the crowd knowing most of their songs.
This set is a good example of what late night sets at 4 Peaks have come to embody; dancing people, smiling faces, and great music. The loose structure brought the band closer to the audience while the musicianship kept the tent hopping. Lead by the Morrison brothers’ vocals and Philip Brezina’s fiddle, the Brothers Comatose ripped through a total of 26 tunes during the two hour set. As the night progressed, electric guitar wizard Scott Pemberton came out to join the boys on a couple of songs.
