“Man, we’re about to get some low down, dirty, creole blues!” That’s what a smiling guy standing next to me said as the stage was being set up for Sonny Landreth and his backing band of David Ranson and Brian Brignac.
“Ain’t that the truth,” I responded. Sonny and his crew were booked for the popular 4 Peaks mid-day blues slot and I could tell people were excited to see them. Sonny did the first 25 minutes seated while playing a steel string resonator guitar before strapping on his trusty Stratocaster for the final 45 minutes. If you’re into blues slide guitar, this is the set!
